Prentice Lewis | Head Coach
Prentice Lewis comes to Grace Prep from the University of Dallas where she served as the head women’s volleyball coach for the 2016-17 season.
Coach Lewis spent 13 years (2002-2014) at TCU, where she is the winningest coach in school history, compiling a 245-174 overall record while competing in the Big XII, Mountain West, and Conference USA. Lewis coached the Horned Frogs to 10 winning seasons, with six of them being 20 win seasons. Her 2009 squad had the greatest season in school history, reaching the 2nd round of the NCAA Tournament while earning a 27-7 record.
Coach Lewis has served as an assistant coach in the SEC (The University of Florida, 2000-02), PAC 10 (The University of Oregon, 1999-000), and Big West (The University of California Irvine, 1996-99).
As a student-athlete, she attended and competed at Cal. State University, Long Beach. During her time at CSULB, she competed in four NCAA Tournaments, including three trips to the Final Four, culminating in a National Championship in 1993. Prentice also participated in the U.S. Olympic Festival in ’93, and was named Big West Scholar Athlete of the Year in ’94.
Coach Lewis married Jeff Lewis in 2000 and they have a daughter named Landry. “My family has always been very important in my success as a coach and the move to Grace Prep is a blessing. I look forward to continuing the success the program has had and developing these young ladies. Go Lions!”
